With summer here most people begin thinking about vacations. Rather than any high priced vacation package, take a trip to the campground. It is an ideal way to reconnect with the family you've been working so hard for all year.
Without the distractions of television and site seeing you will find time to talk as a family. Conversation among family members seems to be something of a lost art. So if it takes you some time to relax and have a real conversation don't worry about it. Your children are learning how to talk to you at the same time.
If you are worried you will just sit around the campsite watching each other remember that there are a number of activities that go hand-in-hand with camping. Many sites have nearby hiking, fishing or water-play opportunities. Then you only have to worry about what to say to each other at night.
